RADIO SALES MANAGER

Our superb and dominant 8-station cluster in Portland, Maine, is losing our sales manager of 20 years at WMGX/WCLZ/WYNZ. She was outstanding, and we need a special type of person to lead this sales team. The position demands an experienced leader who understands the short and long-term demands of radio sales.

 Producer/News Anchor Opening (part time)

Portland Radio Group has an immediate opening for a Producer/News Anchor. Responsibilities include:
Producing syndicated sports programming on 970 WZAN
Swing duty Producing live talk programming on Newsradio 560 WGAN
Swing duty providing traffic updates for 5 radio stations and one television station weekday mornings,
Swing duty as an anchor/reporter at Newsradio 560 WGAN
Swing duty as weekend board operator and production

We’re looking for someone with ambition and passion, who is open to working a flexible schedule of hours. It’s a great opportunity to deliver breaking news coverage as it happens, learn critical news-gathering and reporting skills, and gain valuable experience "in the spotlight" on-air and on-camera.

If you have an understanding of the big picture, we want you to join our award-winning team. Knowledge of MediaTouch, Burli, Adobe Audition, ProTools, and other digital audio production systems will be helpful. Knowledge of newswriting will also be helpful.

Independent Contractor Services- Freelance Sales Reps for MaineLovesFood.com

Bluewave Creative, part of the Portland Radio Group, is searching for freelance, commission-only salespeople to sell its new website, MaineLovesFood.com.
 
MaineLovesFood.com is a new online magazine that combines entertainment features, video, blogs, various listings, articles and podcasts.  The site will emphasize visitor involvement and will be generous in its support of Maine and the various food interests in Maine.  MaineLovesFood.com is supported by ongoing advertising in electronic media as well as by cross-promotion with multiple events, vendors and advertisers.

Potential contacts are a wide array of decision-makers at businesses throughout Maine, including restaurants, specialty food makers, B&Bs, wine and spirit makers and other food-related businesses.  

As an Independent Contractor, the following conditions will apply:

1.      Freedom to set own schedule.

2.      You will be responsible for providing your own office space, supplies, phone and computer services.  You will work from your own office or home using your own supplies and marketing materials.  You will set your own schedule, and are free to do same or similar work for other companies.  You will not be required to attend meetings and will receive no reimbursement for expenses. 

3.    You'll be able to sell banner ads, video advertorials, podcasts, premium listings and other advertising related to the website and a commission of 15% will be paid within thirty (days) of collection.

NETWORK ENGINEERING AND SUPPORT INTERN

This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about IT networks in a professional setting.  The internship will work Directly with the Portland Radio Group IT Director. There will be troubleshooting and hands-on experience in several areas.

Interns may be involved in the following:

·         Equipment inventory.
·         Desktop configuration.
·         network upgrades on a continuing basis.
·         Configure, install, and test network equipment.
·         Prepare network documentation including use of Microsoft Visio.
·         Assist in the maintenance of network services at Remote sites.
·         Assist with necessary Server Install and maintenance. setup computers for staff.
·         Knowledge of windows server, exchange, SQL, WSUS and Wan topologies a plus
·         Other assorted tasks as required.

PORTLAND RADIO GROUP INTERNSHIPS
Now accepting applications for Spring and Summer 2010

The Marketing and Promotions department of the Portland Radio Group currently has openings for interns. Interns work flexible schedules, ranging from 4 to 40 hours each week. Most hours are worked between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays, but occasional evening and weekend shifts are required. Interns are responsible for assisting in event preparation, writing of promotional scripts, website maintenance, and other duties as assigned. There are opportunities for the work of the intern to be tailored to his or her interests. Interns must be comfortable on the phone, with the public, and with computers.
